Dr. Livescu is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the recipient of the 2017 Frank Harlow Distinguished Mentor Award. He is an Associate Editor for AIAA Journal and a member of the AIAA CFD Vision 2030 Integration and Outreach Committee and AIAA Publication Committee . Dr. Livescu is past member of the Executive Committee of the APS Division of Computational Physics (2020-2023), AIAA Fluid Dynamics Technical Committee (2020-2023), Editorial Committee of the Annual Review of Fluid Mechanics, and is also a past Associate Editor for ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering. He was been part of the organizing committee for the International Symposium on Combustion ( 2022 , 2024 ), as Turbulent Flames Colloquium Co-Chair.
